XDS VS (xdsVSS) - defines which value sets IHE ITI XDS SHOULD use for IHE Document Sharing Health Information Exchange in Germany.

Compatibility with FHIR but also other requirements demand changes to important aspects like canonicals.

For the successful implementation of document management systems metadata is required that enables the identification, selection and evaluation of documents stored in these systems. In this guide value sets are developed that provide corresponding code systems.

Provision of the Technical Specification

The FHIR terminology resources associated with this guide are published as packages. The links can be found on the download page.

Problems

  • The files from ART-DECOR are provided as XML only.
  • The VS are defined in form of expansions, without the proper underlying codesystems.
  • Status is not exported.
  • Hierarchy is not exported/represented!?
  • Value Set Id driven by timestamp
  • Properties were noit used.

Conformance Expectations

IHE uses the normative words: Shall, Should, and May according to standards conventions.

Normative Status of these Value Sets

The value sets introduced in this guide are currently not binding for Germany, but represent a recommendation of IHE Germany.

Changes and Maintenance

Changes and maintenance of the value sets presented here are carried out by the IHE Germany working group "Value Sets".
