System Requirements

Functional and non-functional requirements describe the capabilities the system must have and the qualities those capabilities must satisfy. In a SMART DAK these are typically published as an xlsx artifact alongside the data dictionary and decision-support logic.

This DAK does not currently ship a system-requirements xlsx. Authoring formal functional and non-functional requirements is deferred to a later iteration. The decision logic and recall scheduling that the system must support are encoded as FHIR PlanDefinitions and CQL Libraries (see Decision-support Logic); the data the system must capture is encoded as FHIR LogicalModels and Questionnaires (see Data Dictionary).

Implementation contexts that need formal functional and non-functional requirements documents in the WHO DAK style should derive them from the artifacts referenced above. For the methodology rationale on what this DAK contributes, see Adapting Guidelines for Country Use.
