Current status

The HL7 Europe and IHE Europe imaging report group has completed processing the ballot comments from the 0.1.0 ballot. In addition to those ballot fixes, an R4 version of the specification was added. Both specifications are generated from a common source base and are intended to reflect the same content.

To support testing at the IHE Europe XtEHR projectathon in Brussels at the end of March, a snapshot was published here: Home - HL7 Europe Imaging Report R4 v1.0.0-alpha.

The workgroup HL7 EU Imaging Group is currently processing the ballot comments filed in the May 2026 ballot (see 0.1.0 ballot).

The current status of that ballot-reconciliation work; the current builds of the implementation guides are available at:

As comments are resolved, the specification will continue to move toward the planned 1.0.0 release of the Imaging Report specification.

Note that the European Commission is still discussing the outcome of XtEHR and related projects. That process is expected to lead to public comments on the proposed implementing acts for EHDS in October 2026, and the XtEHR logical model may change as a result. Once those updated requirements are published and accepted, this specification will be updated accordingly.
