Terminology

ValueSets

These are ValueSets that have been defined in this guide for coded elements.

Each ValueSet resource has a globally unique url (the Canonical url) that is used to unambiguously identify it. This url generally should resolve to the to the FHIR ValueSet resource, though the infrastructure to support this is not yet in place. There’s a specific note in the spec on ValueSet identification.

The FHIR spec has much more detail on the use of Terminology in FHIR.

ValueSetPurposeCanonical url
Administration locationThe physical location where the administration occurred - eg at home or in a clinichttps://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-administration-site-code
Cancer typeThe type of Cancerhttps://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/cancer-type-code
Medication collection locationThe physical location where the medication can be collected on prior to administration - eg a pharmacyhttps://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-location-medication-collection-code
PlanDefinition additional statusOther codes used for the PlanDefinition statushttps://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-plan-definition-status-code
Possible values for Support FactorsThe set of all possible support factors values (not specific to any one factor)https://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-support-factor-value-code
Regimen type codeThe type of regimen - eg FOLFOXhttps://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-regimen-code
Support FactorsThe set of possible support factors (not their values)https://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-support-factor-code
Treatment intentThe intent of the regimen - what is its purposehttps://standards.digital.health.nz/fhir/ValueSet/sact-treatment-intent-code

CodeSystems

These are code systems that have been defined in this guide. They define specific concepts that are included in ValueSets. It is preferable to use an international code system such as SNOMED, ICD or LOINC - but this is not always possible.

Each CodeSystem resource has a globally unique url (the canonical url) that is used to unambiguously identify it. The url generally refers to a description of the codesystem, rather than to the FHIR CodeSystem resource.

The FHIR spec has much more detail on the use of Terminology in FHIR

CodeSystemPurposeCanonical Url
