Identifies a tumor that has not been removed from the body. Whenever possible, a single resource conforming to this profile will be used to track a tumor over time (as opposed to creating new Tumor-conforming BodyStructure resources each time that tumor is measured). Use HumanSpecimen to represent the tumor after removal from the body. Note that the required code for morphology used in STU2 is now inactive. A new code has been specified and SHOULD be used, but the old code remains conformant.

Usage

Used to represent a tumor that has not been removed from the body, and track that specific tumor across encounters and procedures.

Conformance

BodyStructure resources associated with an in-scope patient with morphology of SCT 367651003 SHALL conform to this profile. Beyond this requirement, a producer of resources SHOULD ensure that any resource instance associated with an in-scope patient used to represent a tumor that has not been removed from the body SHALL be published in this form.

A single instance of BodyStructure conforming to this profile SHOULD be used to track a specific tumor over time.
