The method (e.g., body weight, body surface area, flat dose, age) used to normalize the medication dosage.

Context of Use

It is important to note that the normalization basis extension is not meant to calculate the dosage. It is simply meant to record the method (body weight, body surface area, flat dose, or age) that was used to calculate the dosage. The dosageInstruction and dosage data element found in the CancerRelatedMedicationRequest and CancerRelatedAdministration profiles, respectively, include the details for the ordered and administered dose.
