Extensions

Extensions defined as part of the CA-Baseline implementation guide

Aboriginal Identity Group

A code classifying the person's aboriginal identity

Aboriginal Identity Indicator

A code classifying the person's self identity as an aboriginal person

Birth Sex

A code classifying the person's sex assigned at birth. Replicates the birthsex extension in US-Core-R4 for interoperability.

Deceased

Flag or date indicating that an individual is deceased.

Ethnicity

A code classifying the person's ethnic group or ethnicity as the category of people who identify with each other, usually on the basis of a presumed common genealogy or ancestry or on other similarities.

Date Estimated Flag

If true, indicates that information entered is an estimate and may not be precise.

Identifier Version

A version string indicating the currency/validity of an identifier.

No Fixed Address

This extension applies to the Address datatype and indicates that there is an assertion that there is no fixed address.

Role Status

Represents the status of the Role, as defined by the HL7v3 Role class state machine.

Service Language

Identifies languages that that services are provided in.

Status Reason

Provides a textual description (reason) for a status.

Terminology

ValueSets (and Code Systems) defined for use within the CA-Baseline implementation guide

Aboriginal Identity Group

Represents codes for Aboriginal Identity

Aboriginal Identity Indicator

Represents the self identity as an Aboriginal Person

Birth Sex

Codes for documenting sex at birth. (Replicates the birthsex ValueSet in US-Core-R4 for interoperability.)

Encounter Type

The type of encounter: a specific code indicating type of service provided. This value set includes codes from SNOMED CT descending from the concept 308335008 (Patient encounter procedure (procedure))

Ethnicity Code

Codes representing a self-reported ethnic group. This should not be confused with citizenship or nationality.

Health Concern Codes

Clinical problems, conditions, diagnoses, symptoms, findings and complaints, as interpreted by the provider.

Prescription Medicinal Product

The list of commonly used Medicinal products used for prescribing and dispensing in Canada.

Healthcare Provider Role Type

A role type that is used to categorize an entity that delivers health care in an expected and professional manner to an entity in need of health care services. Examples: Registered Nurse, Chiropractor, Physician, Custodial Care Clinic.

This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Gateway.

Qualified Role Type

A code for the degree or educational rank that the credential specifies. May also apply to an Expertise type.

This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Gateway.

Vaccine Codes

Placeholder\nCurrent and historical vaccines are published as separate lists by Canada Health Infoway.

Practitioner Specialty Codes

Defines the clinical, medical, surgical or other healthcare-related service specialty of a practitioner who interacts, treats or provides such services to or for a patient.

This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Gateway.

Vaccine Administered Tradename Code

The scope of this subset is vaccines that are currently licensed for use in Canada and those obtained through special access programs for use in Canada. The subset includes concepts represented by the trade name (brand name) of the vaccine administered to the client. This content is intended to be used when populating a record at the point of immunization. This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset containing the expanded values can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Server. Reviewers should anticipate that the representation of this valueSet will continue to evolve

Vaccine Historical Name Code

The scope of this subset is vaccines that are currently licensed for use in Canada (generic description, i.e. no trade name), those obtained through special access programs (generic description), and vaccines that have been discontinued and/or never licensed in Canada (with trade name). This content is intended to be used when populating an immunization history when the client and /or provider does not have the detail of the trade name (brand name) of the vaccine administered OR the product has been discontinued and/or never licensed in Canada. This subset will include concepts represented by a generic description for a vaccine that was previously administered to the client as may be expressed by the client or provider for an immunization history and concepts represented by the trade name for products that have been discontinued and/or never licensed in Canada. This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset containing the expanded values can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Server. Reviewers should anticipate that the representation of this valueSet will continue to evolve

Passive Administered Immunizing Agent Code

The scope of this subset is passive immunizing agents that are currently licensed for use in Canada and those obtained through special access programs. The subset includes concepts represented by the trade name (brand name) of the passive immunizing agent (immune globulin or antitoxin) that was administered to the client. Passive immunizing agents are used to facilitate protection against vaccine preventable infections, when vaccines are not available or are contraindicated or when vaccines have not been used before exposure to the infective agent. This content is intended to be used when populating a record at the point of administration. Reviewers should anticipate that the representation of this valueSet will continue to evolve. This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset containing the expanded values can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Server.

Passive Historical Immunizing Agent Code

The scope of this subset is passive immunizing agents used in Canada (generically described, i.e. without trade name), those obtained through special access programs (generically described), and agents that have been discontinued and/or never licensed in Canada (with trade name). This content is intended to be used when populating an immunization history when the client and/or provider does not have the detail of the trade name of the agent administered OR the product has been discontinued and/or never licensed in Canada. Passive immunizing agents are used to facilitate protection against vaccine preventable infections, when vaccines are not available or are countraindicated or when vaccines have not been used before exposure to the infective agent. This subset will include concepts represented by a generic description for an agent that was previously administered to the client as may be expressed by the client or provider for an immunization history and concepts represented by the trade name for products that have been discontinued and/or never licensed in Canada. This resource is an informative value set; a normative subset containing the expanded values can be found on Canada Health Infoway's Terminology Server. Reviewers should anticipate that the representation of this valueSet will continue to evolve
