Event codes carried in MessageHeader.event to distinguish an initial fact-of-death notification from a later correction or retraction of that notification. Receivers use the event code to decide whether to record, amend, or reverse a previously recorded death.

fact-of-death-notification Fact of Death Notification An initial notification that a registered death event has occurred for the identified decedent.
fact-of-death-correction Fact of Death Correction A notification that corrects content previously conveyed for the same death record, for example a revised date or place of death, or corrected decedent demographics. The death itself is still asserted to have occurred.
fact-of-death-void Fact of Death Void A notification that retracts a previously sent fact-of-death notification, for example because the death record was voided or was registered against the wrong individual. The receiver is expected to reverse any death recorded on the basis of the retracted notification.
