How the draw went, recorded by whoever took the sample. A difficult or short draw does not reject the sample; it travels with it so the laboratory can read the result in light of it.

This value set includes codes based on the following rules:
https://fhir.slade360.co.ke/fhir/CodeSystem/specimen-collection-codesystem version 📦0.1.0| Code | Display | Definition |
| clean-draw | Clean draw | The draw went cleanly and the sample is fit for testing. |
| difficult-draw | Difficult draw | The draw needed more than one attempt or prolonged venous access. The sample stands, but results sensitive to a traumatic draw are read with it in mind. |
| short-draw | Short draw, under volume | The container was filled below its target volume. It matters most where the blood-to-additive ratio is fixed, as in a citrate tube. |

Explanation of the columns that may appear on this page:
| Level | A few code lists that FHIR defines are hierarchical - each code is assigned a level. In this scheme, some codes are under other codes, and imply that the code they are under also applies |
| System | The source of the definition of the code (when the value set draws in codes defined elsewhere) |
| Code | The code (used as the code in the resource instance) |
| Display | The display (used in the display element of a Coding). If there is no display, implementers should not simply display the code, but map the concept into their application |
| Definition | An explanation of the meaning of the concept |
| Comments | Additional notes about how to use the code |
