Experimental approach for an AU PS actor. This actor is based on the Consumer (IPS) actor, and describes the additional requirements and documentation applied for the Australian context. This experimental actor will be used in place of IPS actor to define obligations within the Experimental AU PS profiles. This is the expected approach for the HL7 AU Patient Summary FHIR IG.

An AU PS Consumer is a system which receives an AU PS Bundle and uses it to display or process patient summary content.

Actor: EXPAUPSConsumer EXPERIMENTAL AU PS ConsumerType: system

An AU Patient Summary Consumer SHALL comply with the requirements of the IPS Consumer, and:

  • SHALL implement AU PS Bundle, AU PS Composition and AU PS Patient profiles

  • SHALL for each mandatory section in AU PS Composition, implement the AU PS profiles referenced by the section entry (i.e. AU PS AllergyIntolerance, AU PS Condition, AU PS MedicationStatement and AU PS MedicationRequest)

  • SHOULD for each recommended section in AU PS Composition, implement the profiles referenced by the section entry (e.g. AU PS Immunization, Observation Results - Radiology (IPS), AU PS Procedure, and DeviceUseStatement (IPS))

  • SHALL implement obligations defined for this actor in the implemented profiles. Where an IPS profile is referenced in the AU PS Bundle the obligations of the Consumer (IPS) actor SHALL apply

  • SHALL implement the requirements on Suppressed Data when an element is NOT allowed to be shared

  • SHALL consume resources containing Must Support elements with Missing Data or Suppressed Data without error
