Introduction

AU Encounter Recod is provided to support the exchange of encounter information in HL7® FHIR®© in an Australian context. AU Encounter Record is based on AU Core, setting the conformance expectations for implementing support for the exchange of encounter information in systems.

AU Encounter Record supports consumers and their healthcare providers with timely and current access to relevant encounter specific information to enable effective coordination of care.

Project Background

This implementation guide is under development through the AU Encounter Record FHIR IG project as part of the Sparked AU FHIR Accelerator.

The Sparked AU FHIR Accelerator is a community comprising government, technology vendors, provider organisations, peak bodies, practitioners, and domain experts, to accelerate the creation and use of national FHIR standards in health care information exchange.
