    <span id="purpose"><b>Description <a href="https://hl7.org/fhir/versions.html#std-process" title="Informative Content" class="informative-flag">I</a>:</b> <div><p>Support for orders includes the management of order set templates, the support for specific types of orders including medication, immunization, non-medication, diagnostic tests as well as blood products and biologicals.</p>
<p>Decision Support for orders includes checking for allergies or adverse interactions, dosing checking and issuing the appropriate warnings. It may also include functions to increase ordering efficiency such as verifying all necessary information to fulfill the order is captured and making recommendations for supporting orders.</p>
<p>A component of ordering medications and immunizations is the dispensing of those orders and, where applicable, this function will include criteria to support dispensing. Note: Administration of Orders is included in <a href="Requirements-EHRSFMR2-CPS.6.html">CPS.6</a> (Support for Treatment Administration).</p>
