.descriptionTo promote interoperability and adoption through common implementation, this profile sets minimum expectations for the Observation resource to record, search, and fetch pediatric body mass index (BMI) percentile per age and sex for youth 2-20 observations in FHIR using a standard LOINC code and UCUM units of measure. It is based on the US Core Vital Signs Profile and identifies which *additional* core elements, extensions, vocabularies, and value sets **SHALL** be present and constrains the way the elements are used when using the profile. It provides the floor for standards development for specific use cases. The Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) is a tool used to measure a patient's functional status. It can be used to compare the effectiveness of different therapies and to help assess the prognosis of certain patients, such as those with certain cancers. The KPS score ranges from 0 to 100 in intervals of 10. Higher scores are associated with better functional status, with 100 representing no symptoms or evidence of disease, and 0 representing death.
