The National Health Care Surveys, with its NHCS Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) Release 3, more closely aligned its data requirements with USCDI V3. The alignment with USCDI is increased in this FHIR IG. The Health Care Survey Content Bundle is limited to data elements included in USCDI V1 as operationalized by 17 US Core Resource Profiles v6.1. As medications administered during encounters have been collected in the National Health Care Surveys for decades, it was felt this data was needed so as to not have gaps in collection years.
