description	The US Core Patient Profile inherits from the FHIR [Patient](https://hl7.org/fhir/R4/patient.html) resource; refer to it for scope and usage definitions. This profile meets the requirements of the U.S. Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) *Patient Demographics/Information* Data Class. It sets minimum expectations for the Patient resource to record, search, and fetch basic demographics and other administrative information about an individual patient. It specifies which core elements, extensions, vocabularies, and value sets **SHALL** be present and constrains how the elements are used. Providing the floor for standards development for specific use cases promotes interoperability and adoption.	This Profile is defined as a [contained](http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/references.html) resource within the CDex Task Attachment Request Profile or CDex Task Data Request Profile. It is referenced when additional patient demographic data is communicated for a clinical data request (such as verifying patient identity for HIPAA compliance regulations). It constrains the following elements to be *mandatory* (min=1): - A default resource ID of "patient" - A member ID identifier [slice](https://hl7.org/fhir/R4/profiling.html#slicing) - A patient's name and the following element to be [*must support*](attachments-conformance.html#cdex-must-support-definition) (min=0): - A patient account number identifier slice - A date of birth	Values Differ
